Booz&Co. - 100-day Performance Improvement Plan for Automak Completed...

As a well growing company and with the vision and strong plan of expanding its occurrences and operations in neighboring countries such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and United Arab Emirates (UAE), Automak sought a support to craft a 100-day performance improvement plan focusing on rental/leasing business. As a result, on Wednesday, 3rd September 2008, Automak received a proposal for 100 Day Plan from a leading global management consulting firm, Booz & Company. The proposal includes proposed approach on structuring and establishing a strategic objective to significantly raise the company’s capital to facilitate regional expansion.
After thorough study and based upon the information obtained by Booz & Company team, the project was completed on Tuesday, 2nd December 2008. In Automak 100-day plan initiative overview, initiatives were separated into 7 groups namely (A) Sales & Leasing, (B) International Growth, (C) Used, (D) Service, (E) Finance & IT, (F) Operations & Organization, and (G) Project Management Office (PMO).
For effective implementation of the said project, sub-initiatives have been assigned to the managers so as refer to “NATURAL OWNERS”. Respectively, Mr. Ghazi Omar, Automak’s General Manager is consigned for the International Growth Path and Feasibility Study, Organization Structure, Profitability Management and Controlling, Risk Management, Internal Review Schedules and Employee Motivation, Overheads – Staffing Levels as well as Overheads – Other Costs.
Mr. Waleed Khalifa, Finance & IT Manager is delegated to sub-initiatives of Vehicle Financing Cost Reduction, Receivables Management and IT.
Mr. Roy Heywood, Freightliner Brand Manager is assigned to complete and implement the “USED” initiative mainly Channel Management, Business Management and Processes, Used Car Organization and Coordination with New Leasing Sales.
Mr. Ajit Kumar, Automak’s After Sales Manager is assigned for the sub-initiatives of service, primarily Service Workshop Utilization and Efficiency, Parts Sourcing, Phasing of Service Intervals, Maintenance & Repair to External Customers besides Roadside Assistance.
Mr. Omar Ghazi, Commercial Manager is tasked for the sales & Marketing Strategy, Sales Organization, Business Understanding/Management/Account Management in Corporate, Vehicle Purchasing, Insurance Sourcing, Growth in Oil & Public, Growth in Corporate, and Setting up and Running the PMO.
Mr. Omar will be the overall coordinator in any project, teamed up with Mr. Emad of Noor LBO Fund. They will be issuing resolution mechanism and tracking the initiatives and sub-initiatives assigned to managers or so called natural owners. They will jointly exert effort in achieving the overall objective specifically Mastery of overall business and program financials, Develop operational metrics and track work progress, Resolve issues when possible, Validate and coordinate project deliverable and; Manage project communication. Currently, Mr. Omar and Mr. Emad are managing the critical path and tracking progress and achievement; acting as the key contact person for all project-related questions.
