Inception

In the year 2002 Hussam Al-Kharafi and Ghazi Al-Omar started AUTOMAK as a Kuwaiti Company under the licensed name of Automak General Trading & Contracting Company. As of September 2008, the name was changed to Automak Automotive Co. K.S.C.C.  (A Closed Shareholding Company).

The first part of the name refers to the domain of business while the second part initializes the name of Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al-Kharafi.
